CHC strives to make good matches between clients and caregivers, as needs, skills and personalities vary. We know our caregivers, and our intake procedure is a way of getting to know our clients. Care can be a short spell after a surgery or acute illness, a long term part time back-up, and up to 24/7 during a critical or fatal illness. As needs change, we adapt. We do our best to help people who are negotiating the challenges of ill health and old age.

A new program matching volunteers with family caregivers caring for a loved one with dementia. 3-4 hours of regular respite every week gives the family caregiver a break and allows them to take care of their own needs.
A free service, loaning out medical equipment such as wheel chairs, transfer chairs, walkers, disposable underwear, surgical gloves and other items when they no longer need them. This service relies on donations of equipment from former clients and the public, so we cannot guarantee what’s available, but each year we loan, or in the case of disposable products give away, hundreds of items.
All services start with a call to the office: (505) 988 2468.
Your donation is tax-deductible
Your donation enables the CHC office to recruit, train and place volunteers to help those in those most in need in our community, and supports the low-cost in-home care service.
